Recent Rambles: A blogging crisis

So after 9 months of blogging, I have finally reached 100 posts, of which this is the one hundredth and this really crazy when I think about it because that so many posts. I started this, not even knowing where it would go and now we are here. It is quite mind blowing.

The thing about this is I don't actually know if I like a lot of stuff on my blog. I mean sure right now what my favourite song is on a Thursday or the top 5 books that I was spoiled for are fun but are they actually the stuff that when I look back in five years time and go, "Wow I'm am making some good content." Short answer no. I feel like memes - e.g. Top Ten Tuesday or Top 5 Wednesday- are good for so long, they are great for you to build and grow your blog but they are not the best content in the world. I am not criticising anyone who does memes because let's face it I do them. I do them because they are quick and easy and they can be done in like 20 minutes and for a Uni student, they are great but are they really what I want to create? Not really...

At the beginning of the year, I said to myself that I want to give myself more freedom to create what I wanted but I guess this has not happened. At all in fact. OK, so I lie because my A-Z of YA Mental Health books is something that I have wanted to do for a long time and am so proud of but for a lot of my content not really.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I want to make content that I care about and I like writing and even if this means that I don't post as often as before then that is OK because as long as I am creating stuff that I care is all that matters.

I think that if there are still topics that I care about then I will still do the memes but this may not be every week.

I hope you continue with me on this blogging journey with me.

See you soon,

Amy

PS I am still going to be talking about books! You don't have to worry about that.

2nd Year Blogging Anniversary and GIVEAWAY (CLOSED)

So if you see by the title of the blog post, it has been over two years, on the 15th June 2015, since my first blog post. I said in my last blog post that a lot has changed in a year but I feel like the thing that has changed most is the layout because let's face it I haven't really been consistent this year. (I blame university.) Although my posts are inconsistent I still love blogging and come up with so many ideas that I want to write about and would love to become more consistent over the next year but we will see how that goes. Blogging comes with a great community of people and Twitter chats have made me find so many books that I love and interact with great people so I am happy to be part of this community.

So last year I completed a mini-survey which spoke about books that I like and want to read to see if I might have changed in a year so I thought that this was something I will do again...

Turning 21?

You see I have put this blog post for such a long time but tomorrow the inevitable will happen and I will turn 21. I don't know why I decided to add and to keep a question mark in the title because it's not like it is going to happen it will but maybe it's because I just don't feel like it. Queue all the age is nothing but a number talk but I  guess that this is not what this blog post is going to be about.

Being 21 has always been the number that I have aspired to, the one that has been in the back of my mind for the longest time. When I was 18, I knew that at 21 I would be in my final year of university, which I am, and that I would graduate this year and on to the future. But am I right?

I feel like so much has changed it want this magic number must be, given the bears with keys in their hands as if a sign that this would be the time that we would get keys of our own and would gain so much independent. But this is it, it is just a dream.

That's not going to happe…
