Jennifer Lawrence Book Tag


I was just browsing Youtube and I discovered the Jennifer Lawrence book tag. Like many people I enjoy Jennifer Lawrence so I thought it would be cool to do a book tag about her and her life. The tag was created by Micheal Booklion however I am going to be using the questions amended by Tashapolis. Both their videos are linked if you are interested in them. So let's get started...
1. Swearing off social media- A book you refuse to read?

50 Shades of Grey by E.L.James- I don't have any interest in this book and I don't want to read this book as I don't read adult romance and erotica. I don't even have any interest in the film. Just no....
















2. The Oscar trip- A book/series that hit a snag?

Allegiant (Divergent, #3)The Divergent series by Veronica Roth-  I enjoyed both Divergent and Insurgent however the series for me hit a snag in Allegiant. I did not enjoy Allegiant that much and I am not really excited for the films considering I have not even seen Insurgent yet. 









3.* The viral Taylor Swift photobomb at the Golden Globes: A book/series you didn't know would get so popular?

OneOne by Sarah Crossan- This one is not massively popular however for a UKYA book it has been quite popular especially with the amount of US booktubers and bloggers who got ARCs of this book. This is quite weird because UKYA does normally just stay popular in the UK rather than going outside. 









4. Work with David O. Russell- Dysfunctional character you can't help but love?

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1)Clary Fray from the TMI series- Clary can be a very annoying character in the series often going against the word of her friends but she is still a good character at heart. Although stupid at time... 










5. Mystique- A villain who thinks they're doing what's right?

Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1)The Darkling from the Grisha series- This was the only villain that I could think of in the heat of the moment and he does care for Alina and would do anything to get her whatever the consequences are. 










6.* Bradley Cooper: What author do you find yourself always coming back to?

The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1)Julie Kagawa- I am a massive fan of anything that she writes and will most likely buy any books that she releases. I have read all but two of her books and I will have to get to them soon. 










7.* Spoiled for Homeland on National television: A plot line you were spoiled for?

Allegiant (Divergent, #3)Allegiant- I spoiled myself for this one but this is the only major spoiler that I have seen really. I don't get spoiled a lot. 












8. The Hunger Games- Favorite high profile series?

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)The Hunger Games- Well then...













9.* Everyone's obsession with being her best friend: A character who's make your ultimate best friend?

Hermione Granger- She likes books, I like books, it is a win, win combination. 

10. Everything she's ever said- Favourite comedic/snarky character?

City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3)Simon Lewis from the TMI series- Simon is one of my favourite characters in this series. He is definitely sarcastic and lovable and really adds to what really is a great series. Clary also really doesn't give him enough credit. Also to the previous question, I hope we could be friends too.

My Reading Tastes Are Changing

For the last couple of years, I feel like this has become a reoccurring blog post but I want to talk about it now because I think something is actually happening in my reading life. My reading tastes are changing. I've felt it for a while. I haven't really been drawn to YA titles that much anymore especially contemporary. Being busy in my time, I have been really selective in the books that I pick up so for me: the shorter, the better. And when picking up shorter books, the less likely they are to be YA. Favourite Graphic Novels & Manga of 2021

As I have read a lot of books this year, I always want to give graphic novels and manga their own celebration as they often get overlooked and do make up a lot of my reading. I also find that even though I read a lot of them, it takes a lot to convince me and make it a new favourite. So here are my best... Heartstopper Volume 4 by Alice Oseman  Like everyone on the internet, I too am a massive Heartstopper fan and Volume 4 is no different. I love the relationship of Nick and Charlie and the side characters also make the series. This one also explores the way that mental health can impact romance and it still does justice to the story and does not fall into cliches. I am eagerly anticipating the final volume but I don't want it to be over.  The Impending Blindness of Billie Scott by Zoe Thorogood One of the last graphic novels I read this year and the one that has the second amount of hype, The Impending Blindness of Billie Scott also leaves a lasting impression.
