Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Characters You Didn't Click With

It's Tuesday which means that it is time for a Top Ten Tuesday post. This week's topic is top ten characters you didn't click with. The Top Ten Tuesday feature was created by The Broke and the Bookish and more about it can be found here. Let's get started...

Number 10: Lena from the Delirium series

Delirium (Delirium, #1)Although I do like Lena she can at times be very annoying especially when it comes to her image. I wouldn't say we didn't click it, it was more of a misunderstanding.

Number 9: Tally Underblood from The Uglies series

Uglies (Uglies, #1)I haven't read this story in a long while but it is one that I need to get back into although I do have some problems with Tally herself which prevents me from continuing this series. The problem again is with her looks which also is the main bases with this series.

Number 8: Gally from The Maze Runner series

I can't really talk about this one without spoilers from the Death Cure but even in the Maze Runner we just didn't click.

Number 7: Peter from the Divergent series

Image result for peter from divergentPeter is just that conflicting character that not many people like and I am no different. Although Roth tried to make him nicer and have emotions in Allegiant, this didn't change my feelings about him as a character what so ever.

Number 6: Juliette from the Shatter Me series

Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2)Especially in Unravel Me, Juliette is so caught up with Adam who features later in this list and to me she never reaches her full ability. Hopefully she changes in Ignite Me... Hopefully...

Number 5: Celaena from Throne of Glass

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)Celaena from Throne of Glass is the assassin who to me has a no emotion especially in the first book and that made me dislike her quite a bit however this changed in the short stories or group of novellas. In this she tries to save a group of slaves which to me is a softer heart especially for an assassin.

Number 4:The Darkling from The Grisha Trilogy

Ruin and Rising (The Grisha, #3)It's not that I really dislike him, it's just that to me a villain is a villain and they are meant to be disliked and everyone loves him and I just don't.

Number 3: Adam from Shatter Me

Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2)Adam from Shatter Me is just really annoying and to me he prevents Juliette from her goals and is always holding her back.

Number 2: Sutter Keely from The Spectacular Now

Image result for sutter keely
Sutter Keely is a self obsessed character who literally cares about no one but himself. He is definitely a character that I just don't like at all.

Number 1: Gale from The Hunger Games

I think the films made me hate Gale more than the books did as the films have focused more on the romance element than the books did. The films seem to think that it was a good idea to have a disappointing Gale when Peeta and Katniss kiss when this was not needed. To me he just came across really mopey and a character than was just annoying.

My Reading Tastes Are Changing

For the last couple of years, I feel like this has become a reoccurring blog post but I want to talk about it now because I think something is actually happening in my reading life. My reading tastes are changing. I've felt it for a while. I haven't really been drawn to YA titles that much anymore especially contemporary. Being busy in my time, I have been really selective in the books that I pick up so for me: the shorter, the better. And when picking up shorter books, the less likely they are to be YA. The more I am exposed to more books, the more I get to read books that I connect to Some of the books that I have picked up have really surprised me because of how much I ended up enjoying them. I think as I grow older, I am looking for different stories, different experiences and different perspectives. These don't just fit the YA mould. I also have been really into different genres like horror and the occasional thriller which have not read from before and I'm interes

Favourite Graphic Novels & Manga of 2021

As I have read a lot of books this year, I always want to give graphic novels and manga their own celebration as they often get overlooked and do make up a lot of my reading. I also find that even though I read a lot of them, it takes a lot to convince me and make it a new favourite. So here are my best... Heartstopper Volume 4 by Alice Oseman  Like everyone on the internet, I too am a massive Heartstopper fan and Volume 4 is no different. I love the relationship of Nick and Charlie and the side characters also make the series. This one also explores the way that mental health can impact romance and it still does justice to the story and does not fall into cliches. I am eagerly anticipating the final volume but I don't want it to be over.  The Impending Blindness of Billie Scott by Zoe Thorogood One of the last graphic novels I read this year and the one that has the second amount of hype, The Impending Blindness of Billie Scott also leaves a lasting impression. I love a good Briti

Book Review: The Great Godden by Meg Rossoff

   * I am reviewing this book which I was gifted for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own. * Title: The Great Godden  Author: Meg Rossoff Publisher: Bloomsbury  Source: NetGalley ( Bookshop UK |  Hive |  Goodreads  |  Storygraph ) Book Summary: Everyone talks about falling in love like it’s the most miraculous, life-changing thing in the world. Something happens, they say, and you know … That’s what happened when I met Kit Godden. I looked into his eyes and I knew. Only everyone else knew too. Everyone else felt exactly the same way. This is the story of one family, one dreamy summer – the summer when everything changes. In a holiday house by the sea, our watchful narrator sees everything, including many things they shouldn’t, as their brother and sisters, parents and older cousins fill hot days with wine and games and planning a wedding. Enter two brothers – irresistible, charming, languidly sexy Kit and surly, silent Hugo. Suddenly there’s
